Action is disturbed when the mind is misled. Once a man asked Prophet PBUH what about a man who descends on the field of battle against the non-believer and wants, instead of the greatness of his faith, some personal gain like fame and wealth? The Prophet PBUH replied that such a person will gain here but will get nothing in the Hereafter. Allah accepts only those acts which are undertaken only for His pleasure.

May Allah make our intents pure. But what how can a downtrodden and weeping nation of today reach the status of honour? On the Day of Judgement a Voice will say, ‘Where are my neighbours?’ Angel Gibrail will say there are just You the Creator and your mankind the Creation. What neighbours are You referring to?

Allah will say those who dwell in my rooms (meaning mosques). Where are the people who populated these rooms of mine? They are my neighbours, bring them forth.

When the weak (kamzor) develop three qualities their intent becomes pure, they say their namaz and they take to the task of preaching the Faith among the non-believers. Then Allah will come to their help and protect them.

The Prophet PBUH said O Muaz bin Jabal if you purify your intent then a little worship, a little wealth and a little knowledge will suffice (will seem big) to bring you to salvation  and success.

How can we know that our intent is pure? The Imam in his book Al Afkaar says: To understand purity there are three conditions and three indications. If someone praises you or condemns you and it makes no difference to you; and don’t become proud if there is praise for you.

The Companions took care to pray for Allah’s forgiveness if someone praised them. When someone spoke to Hazrat Abu Bakr in dispraise Abu Bakr replied that he was far worse than what he was being told about.

Companion Abdur Rehman bin Auf who had already been promised Paradise was at Arafat when a man came and criticised him, he too showed the same acceptance and did not become angry.
