The Creator of Universe said O Usman the Truth is with you and We will make you wear a shirt and you should not take it off till we both meet. O Usman you will be martyred!
Usman stood on the top of the hill together with Umar Farooq and Abu Bakr. And the Mount of Uhud shook with transport. The Prophet PBUH dug his heel into Uhud and said be still, you have standing on you one prophet, one Siddiq and two martyrs.
The Prophet PBUH said I am the city of Knowledge and Ali is my Gate. May my (speaker’s) life be sacrificed for the sake of Ali. When the Prophet PBUH said who will go with me, Ali said I will, I will be your helper. On the Day of Hijra whom did the Prophet call out to? He said call my Ali. Ali was called and the Prophet asked him Ali you had made a promise to me. Ali said Yes, I had pledged to be your helper. The Prophet said, Okay I am leaving Makka and I want you to sleep in the bed I have left. Ali said O Prophet PBUH you are leaving but are asking me to sleep where the swords may fall any moment.
The Prophet PBUH said I have people’s money with me (investments in his trade) and the people will come here to ask for it back and I want you to stay here and pay them what they had invested with me. I don’t want people to say at my back that I ran away with their gold and silver.
Ali understood and decided to risk the swords in order to fulfil the task given to him. Such is the religion of Islam. People believe in the Prophet PBUH and know that he can only speak the truth. And Ali lay their knowing full well that he could be killed but he decided that even if he had many lives he would give them for the Prophet PBUH. On Heaven, Allah asked his angels whether they had ever gone that far in trust and they said no.
When the Battle of Badr was about to begin, three men of the Quresh came forward, so did somefrom the side of the Prophet PBUH. The Meccans said to Muhammad PBUH we are from Makka and we are strong but your men are gardeners and are weak in the bodies. Send us equal enemies.
Seeing this, the Prophet PBUH looked at his uncle Amir Hamza standing next to him and said these people are challenging you. Hamza said I am ready, but the Prophet PBUH called for Ali and said bring my Ali, he will take care of these people. Badr or Battle of Khandaq, it is Ali who is chosen and thus given high status.
When a Jews came to Battle of Khandaq (Trench) and jumped across and appeared in his dress of mail to challenge the Prophet, and no one was willing to take him on, the Prophet PBUH said bring my Ali and when he had come he had said, ‘Ali remember your promise to me’. Ali answered yes I remember, upon which the Prophet PBUH pointed to the Jew warrior saying, here is your Prophet’s enemy. I give you in the hands of Allah.
Ali had no helmet and no mail on his body. He had only his sword and started walking towards the warrior on Prophet’s command. As he walked the Prophet said look at the way he is walking. He was born inside the Kaaba and he will be martyred inside a mosque.
